Hello! My name is Jade Soik Reed.
Since August 2013, I have been working at Lucy Craft Laney Community School as one of the school's social workers. In 2003 I earned my Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Asian Studies at St. Olaf College. Following this I continued at the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University earning my Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW) in 2007. In 2011 I earned my title as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Previous to working at Lucy Craft Laney, I was the school social worker at a charter school in east St. Paul for five years. When not at work I enjoy spending time with family/friends, eating all kinds of food, traveling, and being a mom.
As an elementary school social worker, my job is to work with students in High 5 (Pre-K) through second grades, their teachers, staff, and families in several areas:
My ultimate goal is for students to succeed academically/socially-emotionally in their lives. Throughout the year I look forward to meeting and/or maintaining supportive relationships with all of you at our School-Family events!
Please feel free to call, email, mail an inquiry or stop by my office; my hours of availability are Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-3:30PM when the school is in session.
Jade Soik Reed, MSW, LICSW
